Last night’s rally at the Hartford State Capitol brought together a powerful gathering of individuals committed to the ongoing struggles for Black and Palestinian liberation. The event, held on August 28 at 5:30 PM, was a testament to the deep intersections between these two movements and the collective power we hold when standing together. As we reflected on the significance of Black August, a month dedicated to commemorating Black freedom fighters and political prisoners, we also honored our Palestinian freedom fighters. Both movements have a long history of resistance, resilience, and unwavering pursuit of freedom. Our speakers shared deeply moving stories, powerful personal experiences, and urgent calls to action that echoed a clear message: our struggles are interconnected, and our fight for freedom must be fought together. We are so grateful to everyone who came out and stood with us in solidarity. A special thank you to our incredible speakers and organizers whose dedication and vision brought this event to life. The energy, unity, and passion displayed last night confirmed that our movements cannot afford to be divided. If we have learned anything, it's that collective liberation requires collective solidarity, because, “nobody is free until everybody is free”.
This rally was just the beginning. The hope and energy from last night push us to continue building upon this movement. We are confident that this will be the first of many more gatherings, each one serving as a reminder that Palestinian liberation and Black liberation are one related movement. ✊🏽 Until liberation is achieved for all, we will continue to stand together. Thank you again to all who attended and made this event unforgettable. Stay connected, stay engaged, and keep the fire burning for freedom and justice.
